Net Calories: 995 / 1250 Water: 8 glasses

Too low but I wasn’t feeling that hungry today. Will try better tomorrow. I ordered a Fast-Track Gold skin-fold caliper from an outfit in BC the other day. It should be here sometime next week so I can start keeping track of my body fat %. I want to make sure I’m eating enough food to maintain/increase my lean body mass while cutting body fat. Looking at my calories above and reading Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle I know for sure I didn’t eat enough today. My Basal Metabolic Rate is roughly 1450 calories based on some tests I ran online. Net calories of 995 just isn’t going to cut it. Bad Kimmy! Tomorrow will be better. I’ll be in better shape once I start taking weekly body fat measurements. That way I’ll know for sure if I’m eating enough/too little and I can go from there. I’m sure there’s a learning curve involved with taking the measurements but it can’t be too hard. I’ll be sure to post all the fun I have with it later. :) Must go to bed now, need to be up at 5 for the gym!

Cardio: 30 minute bike ride on the trail - YAY for outdoor activity!
Mother nature has been so kind to us these past two days.  I love it!  The kids and I went to town this afternoon and I did some Easter bunny shopping.  Don’t be fooled by the dollar store.  It’s an EVIL, EVIL place.  I went in there with $60 thinking I would have tons of money left over.  I walked out with $10 LOL.  I spent $50 in the dollar store!  How is that even possible?  I mean I know *how* but it’s just addictive going into these places.  This is what happens when you visit a dollar store once every 3-4 months lol.

After the dollar store I wandered around the mall and did some shopping. I tried on some dresses at Suzy Shier but didn’t find anything I really liked.  I bought two t-shirts at Bluenotes since they were having a big sale.  Buy one item in the store and the second item half price.  Pretty sweet.  Being a kid at heart I opted to buy an Oscar the Grouch t-shirt for work.  It’s dark green and has “SCRAM” written in big letters.  I think it will be suiting.  The other t-shirt is another Sesame Street classic of Cookie Monster.  You have to see them to appreciate them I guess. ;)   I also bought a new pair of gym pants since my old ones are falling off me.  The ones I’ve been wearing to the gym are a size medium and I keep tying them really tight so they won’t fall.  A new store in the mall was having a big sale, gym pants that were regular $40 on sale for $10.  I grabbed a pair of small and extra small to see which ones would fit best.  Extra small!  Woohoo!

Got home from town and went for a bike ride on the trail.  It was a little muddy in places but otherwise perfect.  The scenery was breathtaking as usual.  Dark blue water, sun shining through the trees, other people walking their dogs.  For all the complaining I do about Montague there are things I really love about it too.  Small town living isn’t always a bad thing.  I like knowing I can safely bike on the trails and not have to worry.  I like knowing I can bike over to the video store and leave my bike outside, un-locked, knowing no one is going to steal it.  I like how I know the people in town and how everyone is always so friendly, even complete strangers.  I dunno, it’s just nice. :)

I’m in such a happy mood right now.  It’s SO uplifting knowing I can do my cardio outside again.  I’ve been wanting to bike the trails for a while now and I’m hoping Mother Nature will continue to be good to us!  No more snow!

Anyhow I’m going to get some sleep.  I work early in the morning. :)
